What Is MRAD vs. MOA?
First of all, you have to know that MRAD has another name – MIL, or milliradian, being an angular unit of measurement.
Every circle has 3600 in it. With each 360-degree circle, it is divided into 6.283 radians with 57.30 in each of them. Radians continue being divided into a thousand milliradians.
Importantly, the number of milliradians (6,283) is not convenient because this number needs to reach up to 6,400 milliradians per circle, based on NATO standards.
Next, MOA, or Minute of Angle, an angular measurement like MRAD, also has circles divided into 360 angles (60 minutes in every degree). That means 21,600 minutes of angle which equals 2,100 MOA.
¼ MOA and 1/10 MRAD
Look at the riflescopes available on the market, most of them provide adjustments – 1/4 MOA clicks and 1/10 MIL. Both have typical differences.

Do Military and Law Enforcement Use MOA or MRAD?

Is MOA or MRAD More Accurate?
When comparing MRAD to MOA, you should remember MRAD to MOA conversion is not a big selection.
All you need to keep in mind, therefore, is clicks with a MILD turret is less accurate than clicks with an MOA turret. It does not have to divide smaller with an MOA turret that the system itself.
So, does that mean one system is better than the other? No! No! The difference is not too big.

These formulas bring an exact result when you know the size of the target or a nearby object.
You might consider the MOA scale or horizontal MRAD unless the MOA scale or vertical MRAD is okay. On the target, place your reticle; then, you will know measurement. Read the MOAs or MRADs spanned. When you are measuring, it would be best to have a steady hold on the riflescope.
Now, you can get the range result, by placing the data onto the formulas. If you do the MRAD estimation, you will get the most precise ranging.
Multiplication by 10 or 100 is always simple. Calculating with constants (ex. 27.8), by contrast, becomes more complex and harder on the field.
